A Theatre Poster With A Paperdoll Twist!

I was recently commissioned by Marissa Kamin in New York to come up with a fashion cartoon-like version of the main character from her 2007 off-Broadway play, "The Fabulous Life Of A Size Zero". An animated version of the play is in the works. This project was a little different than some other assignments that I have received. Marissa asked me to collage or paperdoll the outfit on my drawing of the girl with pics of real fabric swatches! Her top, her skirt, belt and boots are all collaged fabric pics over my actual drawing. It was alot of fun and a challenge, along with being a first, working with someone in the New York theatre world. Please click directly on the image for a larger version of the poster. Enjoy!

I originally drew Reese Witherspoon for Cartoon Doll Emporium as a "drop & drag" paperdoll. But with this version I have tweeked the outfits with some different prints, etc. Also, I have added a stand for Reese! The only thing I did not do was add tabs! But you know how to do that, if you want to cut her out and play! So she is a completely new version on my Reese Witherspoon PD!!!! Enjoy!

I had the choice of jewelry and a time period. So I chose to draw a woman somewhat reflecting the 1920's and wearing Art Deco inspired jewelry. My Paperdoll Art

I am a fashion illustrator and am always looking for ways to take it to the next level. One of those ways that I have been doing just that, is through a very old artform, but with an updated twist! Paperdollz! It also satisfies my interest in fashion!

I draw women and menswear fashion illustration for clients , so it makes sense that I do this in my paperdollz, too. On my blog you will find paperdollz that are for sale and some freebies that you can download & print out!

I work in various styles, from traditional hand drawn to digital media on the computer. I have always felt that you should never be limited to just the traditonal media, like color pencil, wash, pen & ink or whatever. Digitally drawn paperdollz with the aid of the computer is just as valid as any other drawing style! I will be posting as time goes along, the different styles that I draw in.
